Riot cop pleez to have you bring it on

I am pleased as punch to report that I cast the tenth vote on Farhad’s last sifted submission, thus making him the very FIRST sifter to get 1000 STARS! Yeah, you better believe it baby. That crazy Uzbek has earned one thousand stars, which is nothing less than phenomenal. Check out his new bling: A gold bronze crown! How cool is that!?

To boot, he just recently passed mlx and is now the third highest-ranked member here. Still not impressed? Well then go to his profile page and learn what he’s about: The obscure. Check out his videos, and you’ll see that Farhad got to where he is the hard way, i.e., by posting obscure videos, which by their nature will generally have a limited appeal. Regardless of any video’s marketability he posted them anyway, because he has an eye for quality.

What do I like most about his videos? First I must say that I consider him to be a member of the Sift’s Holy Trinity of awesome eclectic music. (JAPR and Eklek are the other two members.) Now don’t get me wrong; I have found tons of great music from many, many members, but it seems that Farhad, along with JAPR and Eklek, have delighted me most with musical selections that I know I otherwise would never have heard had it not been for them. But that’s not all:

- He’s a cinephile extraordinaire, knowledgeable of films from around the world.
- He studies politics, and is more knowledgeable of American politics than most people I know (which are virtually all Americans, mind you).
- He knows about military history and hardware, better than 99% of the general public.
- He’s a thoughtful and incisive commenter, having earned 23 stars for applauded comments.

I could go on, but now I believe it’s time for us to applaud this sifting stalwart. Give it up for Farhad, the T1000 of VideoSift. (Oh yeah, he’s also made of liquid metal, and can kill you with stabby appendages.)
